I wound up here from seeing your comment in an otherwise disturbing post and thread about the "Grace" article -- I wasn't actually friends with that person either, so I didn't take part in the conversation, I had just wound up there somehow. Anyway, I just wanted to say that I really appreciated you speaking up and linking to that dissenting piece from The Mary Sue. I was especially thankful to see that because that news story is really triggering for me and I think it would've turned this into a really difficult evening to just see a big post full of people patting each other on the back for believing that stuff about it. I don't often actually enter discussions of that kind myself, as I'm extremely non-confrontational and don't like to open myself up to any potential/perceived conflict, but I kept going back to that one.
